Foggy Friday
Friday morning was pretty foggy around these parts. Above, the oak across the street, which has attained a fairly good shade of red this year. Below, a sunnier view. The nature of sunlight this time of year is such as to exceed totally my ability to get the lighting right.

Post Oaks in Autumn
Lots of fresh leaves in Bastrop under the post oaks, covering the fresh pine straw which fell a month earlier.
Pear Leaf
This pear leaf came from the bradford pear next door. It's a high achiever because it turned red and fell off early. Most of the leaves are still on that tree and just turned red yesterday. Note many acorns underneath (especially in the lower right corner) from our live oak's bumper crop.
Shameless Commerce
Well, it's somewhat official: we've selected an agent and we're targeting shortly after New Year's to put our house on the market. With any luck we will find a buyer who is a plant-loving Austin slacker type. We'll miss the house, and especially the things I've planted, once we're finally gone. Too bad I'm not wealthy enough to own two houses.
Anyway, lovely three bedroom house in search of new owner. Buy it!
Balancing Act
When I went out to Bastrop last week, I found that the top part of a dead post oak had blown over. Rather than making it to the ground, however, it lies suspended by some other branches.

Friday Night Lights
Supposedly tonight is the first showing of Friday Night Lights that will feature footage from up the steeet. On that topic, they were filming outside some yesterday while I had taken Bethany to the playground. We might end up in some future episode as a few unfocussed pixels off in the distance.
Monday Sunset
A little patch of Monday night's sunset.
